We have been providing dog walks and pet services on the North Side of Chicago since 2000. It's been our mission to take the stress out of dog walking and provide the best experience for our clients while they are at work or away from their home. We have now brought all that great experience and expertise to downtown Chicago with Urban Tailz: In the Loop!
We are insured and bonded through the Business Insurers of the Carolinas. Urban Tailz is a member of NAPPS (The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) and this is the insurance company they recommend using. Urban Tailz is a LLC and is licensed to provide pet care services in the city of Chicago. We have the most stringent background check policy of any dog walking company in Chicago, running multiple background databases for each new walker because we know just how important it is to keep our clients and their homes as safe as possible. We do not hire any walker with any sort of criminal record. Our clients are just too important to us!
I started Urban Tailz in May of 2000. I used to work long hours and travel frequently. I often felt bad leaving my dogs and cats home alone. Urban Tailz allows me to spend more time with my family while helping others with their families.
Over the years my family has grown. We now have 3 children, 2 dogs, 4 cats, and usually some visiting dogs (we are a foster home for a group called Recycled Rotts). Our Lakeview home is a little crazy, but that's the way we like it.
I went to culinary school with aspirations on being the next great chef, but quickly realized the crazy hours and intense atmosphere were not for me. I joined Urban Tailz in 2005, and it's been my home ever since.
I have two wonderful dogs Mucha and Tesla that are my life outside of Urban Tailz. They keep me busy, full of love, and well-entertained. I get to play with lots of kitties and dogs on a daily basis working for Urban Tailz, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love cooking, but my passion now and forever will always be taking care of all my wonderful furry friends and their owners.
I grew up in Michigan and moved to Chicago in 2007. Chicago has always been my favorite city, and I have always wanted the big-city life. I started working for Urban Tailz in 2009.
I was in the hospitality industry for years and also have a background in computers. My years working in hotels and customer service have given me invaluable knowledge that translates well to the pet service industry. I strive to make Urban Tailz the Four Seasons of pet services!
I've had animals for most of my life, and I now have two great Italian Greyhounds Casey and Raleigh that keep me busy. My pups are my babies, so I know just how important our furry clients are to their families!
I began working for Urban Tailz in 2000, helping Sue get the company going from the beginning. When the summer was over I returned to my teaching job, but I quickly realized when my husband and I started our family that Urban Tailz was the place I needed to be! We now have 3 children and a black lab rescue named Libby.
I take great pride in knowing that your dogs and cats are in great hands and are being well cared for while you're away!
I have lived in Chicago my entire life, growing up in the now-booming Logan Square area. I've worked for Urban Tailz since 2014.
I don't have any pets at this time, but I often have my niece and nephew over, whom many have confused as chimpanzees. Urban Tailz allows me to play with lots of animals on a daily basis, which I love.
When I'm not working for Urban Tailz, I love playing music, and I consider myself an avid cinephile.
I grew up in Michigan but now consider Chicago my home. Working with Urban Tailz has helped me take root in the city because I've truly found a dream job! Since I don't have any pets of my own yet, it's been wonderful to bond with all kinds of animals as a "pet auntie".
On my free time I love to cook, eat, travel and Netflix binge, preferably all in the company of my friends and family.
Hi! I'm Amanda. I was born and raised in the best city there is...Chicago! I enjoy working for Urban Tailz because there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a happy animal waiting for you as you walk through the door!
When I'm not with my furry animal friends I like to go for runs and play tennis. I also enjoy checking out different coffee shops and restaurants in the city. And of course, hanging with my friends and family!
I grew up in Dallas, TX and moved to Chicago in 2012. I love working for Urban Tailz because not only do I get to keep active, but I also get to spend time with some of the coolest creatures on the planet.
Outside of caring for pups, I'm a musician, writer, and the frontman for the metal band Disrupting the Abacus.
Originally from Venezuela! I live in the Loop and I'm currently perusing a degree in mathematics, to later become a teacher. Besides my fascination for math I have a huge love and devotion for animals, being with dogs and cats just feels so comfortable and natural to me. It's almost as if I was another one of them!
Photography is my biggest hobby and there is nothing that I enjoy more than taking photos of nature and animals. Working at Urban Tailz allows me to do just that!
